If you want to hone your artistic skills further, why not learn how to draw a tractor? It may not seem easy to draw a tractor due to its intricate characteristics, but you may be surprised that it’s easier than you think!
To make it much easier for you, we have created a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a tractor. This comprehensive guide consists of 9 simple instructions coupled with simple illustrations.
How to Draw A Tractor
First, create the right front wheel of the tractor. Draw an irregular circular shape to form the hoop.
Next, draw a smaller oval shape on the right side inside the tire to complete the wheel. Now draw a curved flap just above the wheel. This forms the platform at the top of the wheel.
Make sure you draw the wheel at the bottom of the paper. This ensures that there is enough space for the other tractor parts.
Continue by drawing an irregular square shape with rounded edges on the left side of the wheel we drew in the previous step. This creates an outline of the engine bay right next to the front wheel.
The wheel should overlay the lower right side of the figure you just drew, as shown in the image above.
Draw the second front wheel on the opposite side of the engine compartment. This wheel should have a similar shape and texture to the first wheel we drew earlier in the very first step.
However, since the tractor is sideways, the top right side of this wheel is obscured by the engine bay, so it is not fully visible.
Now that we’ve drawn the front wheels let’s work on the rear wheel. Only the right rear wheel is visible because the tractor faces sideways, so we only draw one rear wheel.
Create the rear wheel by drawing a similar shape as the front wheel. This time, however, the platform directly above should be longer and fuller, encompassing the top half of the wheel.
In this step, we will draw the top part of the tractor. Continue by drawing a diagonal line across the engine and another across the rear wheel.
Next, complete the figure by adding a slightly curved horizontal figure at the top, connecting both endpoints of the diagonal lines.
Make the tractor more realistic by adding details like the tractor’s exhaust pipe and something circular or cone-like right on the top of the body, as shown in the image above. The tractor in your drawing is almost complete – keep going!
Create the dimensions of the engine by adding three connected straight lines. This makes the engine look like a three-dimensional cube, which makes it look realistic!
Draw straight parallel lines on top of the tractor. This sharpens the look of the tractor to bring it to life!
Continue by drawing a square shape with rounded edges on the front of the engine compartment. Then draw more parallel horizontal lines inside the square shape to create the tractor grids.
Good news: the tractor is almost ready! To complete the tractor’s look, only a few details need to be included.
Complete your drawing by making all the wheels appear in 3D! Just draw a parallel curved line inside the inner circle of the wheel. This creates the inside of the wheels.
Next, draw a few more lines along the surface of the wheels. Make sure these lines match the contour or shape of the wheels. It’s finally time to make your tractor look much more realistic by adding colors! As you can see in the picture above, we used yellow for the tractor’s body, gray for its wheels and metal frame, and dark green for the inside of the wheels!
You can color the tractor similar to ours or use a unique color set! Either way, we’re sure the colors will be stunning! Have fun playing with colors until the tractor comes to life!
